Class 35 built as D7000 to D7100
They were built at the Beyer Peacock works in Manchester. Powered by a Maybach MD870 unit the fleet was deployed to Paddington Weymouth and Cardiff duties. Withdrawl was to be complete by March 1975. Four examples are preserved:-

Class 42 built as D800 to D832, D866 to D870
They were built at Swindon workshops. Powered by two Maybach MD650 engines. The fleet operated Western Region Internal trains, North - South inter-regional and on the Waterloo to Exeter route. Two are preserved.

Class 43 Built as D833 to D865
They were built at the North British Locomotive Co works, powered by two NBL/MAN L12V18/21B. The fleet operated Western Region Internal trains, North - South inter-regional and on the Waterloo to Exeter route.
Class 52 Built as D1000 to D1073
They were built at two workshops Swindon (D1000 to D1029) and Crewe (D1035 to D1073, D1030 to D1034 were later transferred to Crewe). Powered by two Maybach MD655's units, the fleet was deployed to Paddington - West of England and South West Wales. Built with Vacuum brakes and steam heating the only change was the addition of air brakes to the majority of the class. Final withdrawl came on 27 February 1977. Six examples have been preserved.
